Get Started with the Drop-in UI

The drop-in UI is a complete set of collaboration tools in one, flexible package - it contains messaging, document collaboration, micro blogging, comment functionality and more. We built the drop-in UI as an example of what is possible to do with the Weavy SDK. When you add it to your app or website it will inject a floating panel that we call "the dock". In this panel we have added icons for personal information such as notifications, instant messaging, spaces etc. Each space is packed with functionality like micro blogging, file storage, task management and more.

Adding the drop-in UI to your existing app or website is a good way to start experiencing Weavy.

Adding the drop-in UI

Everything starts with the Weavy javascript library - it needs to be added to your application or website in order for Weavy to work. To obtain a copy of the Weavy javascript library you should point your browser to the client configurator in your weavy installation, i.e. https://{weavyurl}/client.

You will be presented with a form where you can configure the client SDK. As you can see the url to the client SDK can be modified to get different configurations of the SDK. In this case you should select the Extended version which contains all the plugins needed for the drop-in UI.

Now copy the script for Plain HTML and inject it somewhere in your application or website. It should look something like this:

<script src=""></script>
<script src="https://{weavyurl}/javascript/weavy.extended.js"></script>
<script>var weavy = new Weavy();</script>

Try it out!

You should now be able to test the drop-in UI by navigating to the page in your app or website where you injected the script.
